Discover Iuka

Iuka, the seat of Tishomingo County, is built on the site of a Chickasaw village and named for one of its chiefs, Iuka, son of Chief Tishomingo. The town was founded by David Hubbard, a wagon train scout, and grew when the Memphis and Charleston Railroad arrived in 1857. Before the Civil War it had a women's college, a boys' military academy and a fine hotel.
